Welcome to Phuket’s first Golf bar, located in the exclusive and picturesque Laguna. the Captains Bar Phuket is a new sports pub open from 5 pm – 1 am every day, with indoor and outdoor seating, free parking, multiple screens including a large projector that shows live matches, a wide variety of snacks and alcohol, and a great sunset view overlooking one of Phuket’s beautiful lagoons.
Host Bar Laguna
Owner Raghu Raghunath and his family proudly present the Captains Bar Phuket located on Lagoon Road, in Cherngtalay, Thailand. A Host Bar specializing in worldwide favorites of Gin, Whiskey, Scotch, and Rums from around the world.
We have a steadily growing selection of alcohol, ranging from local beers to imported spirits and wines, with a focus on an extensive Gin bar and Whiskey and Scotch selection. Captain’s Bar has over 100 different spirits for you to choose from, whether you’re keeping it simple with an Absolut Vodka and Soda or would like to sample something more luxurious like the Colombian Dictator Gin. We’ve also installed a brand-new Wine Cellar that has options like the 150THB/glass Australian Nadin and the 980THB/bottle South African Great Five (our most popular house wine), as well as top-shelf French and Italian wines.
Golf & Sports Bar
Captain’s Bar is the first in Phuket to have its own Golf Simulator, complete with over 150 world-class courses to choose from, a set of house clubs and balls, and monthly tournaments such as ‘Nearest to 100 Yards’ and ‘Nearest to the Pin’. It can be used by customers for an hour for 1000THB, or you have the option of spending 2000THB in the bar (on either food or drinks or both) and getting a same-day coupon for an hour’s use of our Golf Simulator. We also have affiliations with some of the best golf clubs in and around Phuket which offer discounted green fee rates to our customers and members.
We often participate in charity golf events in Phuket, usually in the Laguna Golf Course, as a Hole Sponsor, where we sell or give away our acclaimed Rum Punch, Golden-Fried Chicken Nuggets, French Fries, Fiery Chicken Wings, and/or a selection of soft drinks. In the past we’ve been a part of the P-REA events, the Aussie Disaster Relief Golf Fundraiser, and Phuket’s Children’s Hospital Charity Golf Tournament as a proud sponsor to a number of worthy causes.
In addition to showing live and past screenings of Golf Tournaments – such as the PGA tours – we also show other live sports such as Football, Rugby, Cricket, Tennis, and Formula 1. We are currently showing matches from the English Premier League (our EPL schedule is viewable on our website, Facebook page, and outside the bar) and all SixNations Rugby games.
Promotions
Here at Captain’s Bar, we have a number of weekly promotions in addition to seasonal events. This includes Two for Tuesdays – Buy 2, Get 1 Free on all standard cocktails, beers, and house wines – Ladies Night every Thursday – Buy 1, Get 1 Free – and the Friday Night Market Deals – a set of an Angus Beef Burger and Draught Chang Beer for only 199THB (with the option of having just the burger for 150THB). We are also introducing Karaoke Night, usually held on Saturdays and Wednesdays, but our Karaoke machines and mics are free for use all week round.
There is, of course, a Happy Hour (or two hours in our case) from 5 pm – 7 pm every day. During this time you can enjoy one of our several 120THB cocktails and get 10% of all other drinks. Cocktail options include standards like Vodka and Soda, Gin and Tonic, Rum and Coke, and others, all using our ever-popular house pours.
Events at Captains Bar
Laguna is one of the most beautiful, well-kept areas on the island, but what it’s sorely been missing is live entertainment for its residents. That is why we have started quarterly Comedy Nights, open to anyone! We have hosted two so far with great success, the first headlined by Phil Kay, an acclaimed Scottish comedian, and supported by Deepak Chandran. The most recent comedy event featured Dave Thompson, one of the best joke writers on the circuit and a former member of the Teletubbies (he was Tinky Winky in case you were wondering). There are standard tickets which include a free drink, and the option to upgrade to a VIP ticket which includes dinner and your choice of seats and tables.
